Steel Core - Volume 1 Edition 3

Recently Steel Core had the opportunity to speak with Lou Jacobs, CEO of State Wide Promotions. Jacobs will be directing the halftime show at the upcoming June 12th game.

SC: How did you end up getting into the cheerleading business?

LJ: I had an idea, 19 years ago and proposed it at the first ever NFL Cheer Directors meeting, held in Jacksonville Fla. The idea was to take the Pro Sports Cheer and Dance teams to the "next level". Organizing a team of ladies that were physically fit, articulate, educated, awesome dancers/cheerleaders and of course beautiful. These girls would be the "Ambassadors" for the francise ALL Year long, Not just in season. Everyone loved the idea and I have worked with NFL Eagles, Buffalo Jills, Tampa Bay, as well as AFL Philadelphia Soul, Buffalo Destroyers, Colorado Crush, Dallas Desperados . This year we have expanded to baseball with programs running for the LA Dodgers, Lakewood BlueClaws, Trenton Thunder and the Camden River Sharks. The Junior Dance programs started 17 years ago as a great support to the franchises to fill seats and offer community give back as well as showcase all the awesome talent our youth has to offer.

SC: What should we expect for the June 12th game?

LJ: On June 12th we expect almost three hundred dancers representing 3 different Sports Franchises from the tri state area performing at Half time.

SC: How long have you been directing cheerleading at StateWide Promotions?

LJ: I have been CEO and Director for 19 years.

SC: Have any of your alumni cheerleaders gone on to work with any professional teams?

LJ: Yes, over the years dozens of our former dancers and cheerleaders have gone on to represent college and Pro NBA, NFL, AFL and Pro Lacrosse and Soccer organizations.
